Welcome to the Swedish Society of Rural Medicine!

The Swedish Society of Rural Medicine was founded in 2002. Its primary task is to develop healthcare in rural areas of Sweden. The society is open for all medical personnel with an interest in the field of rural medicine.

The society wishes to support and develop the education of medical students in the field of rural medicine both during basic and postgraduate education.

In 2005 we were accepted as a member of the the Swedish Society of Medicine.

We arrange a national conference in Rural Medicine on a yearly basis.

The Swedish Society of Rural Medicine also has the ambition to create contacts with other societies of rural medicine globally.
